As apparent as its title, Night Passage is very much associated with night--a warm night in the summer with the vailed cool of its metallic lights. For Ince, the work reflects a stroll taken at night during summer in an Aegean/Mediterranean (Turkey) or Scandinavian town where, actually, most of the night a unique daylight hovers. These towns can be very lively yet very peaceful and calm at the same time.
